Cedar Creek Reservoir

The basin presents a mix of open main-lake water, timbered creek arms, points, and shoreline indentations typical of a large East Texas supply reservoir. Depth and bottom character vary from shallower cove and flat habitats to deeper water toward the dam and riverine channels, giving boaters and anglers a range of structure types. Cedar Creek Reservoir supports recreational boating and sport fishing through public ramps, parks, and shoreline access around the lake. Fishing and boating regulations are guided by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. The lake draws regional visitors for open-water recreation on a managed water-supply reservoir.

TRWD manages Cedar Creek for water-supply storage and system operations. Published references include a conservation pool near 322 feet and a dead pool near 263.5 feet. Inflows, regional demand, and drought or wet-period hydrology move elevations through that storage range. Monitoring lake levels matters for boat-ramp usability, fishing access, shoreline conditions, and understanding remaining storage above dead pool.
