Overview
John Redmond Reservoir is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers project on the Neosho River in east-central Kansas. Completed in 1964, the reservoir covers approximately 9,400 acres. It is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Tulsa District for flood control, water supply, and recreation.
The basin presents open main-lake water, riverine channels, points, and shoreline flats typical of a plains Neosho River flood-control reservoir. Depth and bottom character vary from shallower flats and cove margins to deeper water near the dam and channel, creating habitat that shifts noticeably with pool elevation.
