Overview
Washoe Lake is a natural lake in NV. It is managed by Nevada State Parks / Nevada Department of Wildlife.
The basin is characterized by about 5,900 acres of surface area. Shoreline and bottom character vary from protected coves and flats to deeper water, supporting a mix of open-water and nearshore habitats.
Washoe Lake supports recreational boating and fishing. Public access is through area ramps, parks, and shoreline facilities where provided by the operator. Fishing and boating regulations are set by the relevant state wildlife agency.
Washoe Lake is not operated to a classic reservoir full-pool curve. Where a gauge exists, water-surface elevation is the reference. Conditions still matter for boating, fishing access, and shoreline use.
