Overview
Arcadia Lake is a roughly 1,680-acre reservoir on the Deep Fork River in Oklahoma County, on the northeast edge of the Oklahoma City metro between Edmond and Arcadia. It was created when the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers completed Arcadia Dam in the mid-1980s; the conservation pool filled in 1987. The project is operated for flood risk management, municipal water supply, and recreation.
At normal pool the lake has about 26 miles of shoreline and a maximum depth near 48 feet, with an average depth of roughly 18 feet. Wooded coves, points, and the flooded Deep Fork channel give the basin a mix of shallow flats and deeper structure close to the dam, and the urban setting keeps much of the shoreline in public park land rather than private docks alone.
Arcadia is a popular day-use and camping lake for the Oklahoma City area, with boating, swimming, trails, and fishing for largemouth bass, catfish, and sunfish. Fisheries are managed by the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation, and City of Edmond / Corps parks and boat ramps provide the main public access.
Water levels are managed by the Corps of Engineers around a conservation pool of 1,006 feet above mean sea level (NGVD29), with flood-control storage extending to 1,029.5 feet. Because the Deep Fork watershed can rise quickly after storms, elevations move with rainfall and releases, so monitoring current lake levels matters for boating safety, fishing, and shoreline access.
Arcadia Lake is a 1,676-acre reservoir on the Deep Fork River managed by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
