Overview
Blewett Falls Lake is a reservoir located in south-central North Carolina along the Pee Dee River, primarily within Richmond and Anson counties. Created by the construction of Blewett Falls Dam in the early 1900s, the lake spans approximately 2,500-2,600 acres and forms part of the larger Yadkin-Pee Dee river system. Its position within the basin and role in hydroelectric generation make it an important water resource for the region.
The shoreline is characterized by wooded banks, narrow creek embayments, riverine sections, and a mixture of protected coves and more open-water areas.
