Overview
Narrows Reservoir (Badin Lake) on the Yadkin River in the Uwharrie Lakes region of central North Carolina (Stanly, Davidson, Montgomery, and Rowan counties). Impounded in 1917 by Narrows Dam for hydroelectric power on the Yadkin Project (FERC No. 2197). Commonly cited at about 5,350 acres, ~115 mi shoreline, ~90 ft average depth, and up to ~190 ft maximum depth. Normal full pool is 541.1 ft (Yadkin datum) per Cube Yadkin / NWS BADN7; the legacy USGS project datum is ~509.8 ft at the same stage. Live level from NOAA NWPS gauge BADN7 (USGS site 02122844).
